Real Women Wearing Ming Wang: Linda

Having worked in technology sales for over 32 years, Linda knows a thing or two about hard work and determination.  So much so that when she was almost nine months pregnant, she was named AT&T’s number one salesperson across the country.  Ask Linda about it and she credits her passion for her job.  “I love that I get to solve problems for my customers and they think I’m a heroine,” she says. But part way through her accomplished career, she realized her wardrobe needed a “dramatic” makeover.  “I was tired of the standard suits and dry cleaning bills,” she explains.  “But I needed something that look good enough to help me sell to CEOs and CFOs yet still helped me fit in with the younger tech crowd I worked with.”  That’s when she found Ming Wang.  “I travel so much and I love that I can get the colors, mix and match, and still have something that packs easily.”

With her busy lifestyle, versatility is key. “I was in a conference in Boston and packed six pieces that gave me twelve outfits, and made me look great during my 18 hour days,” she recalls.  “Now, I easily wear Ming Wang about six days a week – to work and with jeans for the weekend.” Love Linda’s style? Classic Grand Finale

Every season, Ming Wang aims to create versatile styles that make women feel confident and beautiful.  For Fall, we looked to combine playful prints and details with a polished, structured silhouette.  Inspired by some of our favorite distractions, the goal was to capture the magic, intrigue, and exuberance of the classic grand finale.  From deep hues of reds, blues, purples, and pinks reminiscent of fireworks and illusionist attractions, to sweet feminine details and animal inspired prints, I hope that this collection reminds you,  that simplicity can still leave you in awe. This season also marks the debut of our latest luxury line, SAPPHIRE, introducing sophisticated styles in a new range of fabrics, textures, and finishes.  Adhering to the tenets of ease and timelessness that Ming Wang has always been known for, the entire collection is still machine washable, and wrinkle- and fade-resistant, making formal dressing as effortless as ever. Real Women Wearing Ming Wang: Jewell

At the age of 13, Jewell started working at a local shop in Rocky Mount, Virginia, and almost 20 years later that same store became hers.  Leaving a lucrative position as a department store buyer to start her own business, Jewell founded J & J Fashions and turned it into a modern boutique that adapted to fit her customers’ needs.  Today, the successful retailer has nearly doubled in size and prides itself in bringing in loyal clients from as far as 150 miles away.

Her secret?  Putting people first.  “It’s not about how much money we make, it’s about helping people,” explains Jewell.  “We actually do a lot of counseling at the store.  It’s amazing what a Coke and 30 minutes can do.”  It’s that same sentiment that she has passed on her daughter Sheila, who now runs the store while Jewell works part-time.

But when it comes to fashion, she knows exactly what women will love.  “You get a customer in the dressing room with Ming Wang’s knits and you have made a friend – and a customer – for life,” she says.  And that’s a feeling she knows firsthand.  “Ninety percent of my wardrobe is Ming Wang,” she confesses.  “You can wear it year round, it’s packable, it’s washable, and you can wear it from eight in the morning until midnight and you’ll still look nice.”

Impeccable style aside, Jewell’s compassion, warmth, and entrepreneurial spirit make her the kind of woman we’re proud to dress and showcase in “I am Ming Wang.” Don’t forget to vote for her store J & J Fashions in the “I am Ming Wang” Facebook contest! Real Women Wearing Ming Wang: Adrianne

When Adrianne’s parents made the move south to Florida from New York, they went from “snowbirds” to resident retirees, later opening their namesake store, Evelyn & Arthur.  Unexpectedly, Adrianne and her husband took a chance and followed them down not too long afterwards, leaving their positions at Macy’s to help run the family business.

Today, Evelyn & Arthur has seven stores across southern Florida, and Adrianne attributes the mini-chain’s success to her stellar staff and a community-focused attitude.  “You can’t do this alone,” she says.  “I have an amazing team of people – some that have worked for us for over 25 years.”  But she’s even prouder of their contributions locally.  “I always encourage my employees to give back, to find an organization they care about and get involved.”  And Adrianne certainly practices what she preaches, serving as a local chair for Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure.  “We’re all together in this,” she explains.

Overseeing and buying for multiple stores, Adrianne loves getting to know her customers and hearing their stories.  And her enthusiasm for her job is truly infectious.  “If I could be doing anything, I would be on Broadway,” she says with a laugh.  “But what I do is not a dull job – you’re not in an office, you’re interacting with people!”

We love that Adrianne is a compassionate woman that knows what she wants – even in style.  “I see something I like, I buy it in all three colors,” she says.  “I know what I want and I’m done.”  But that’s not to say she doesn’t have her own shopping vices: “I can never have too much make-up – I love the packaging and that there’s no size to worry about.”
