With Mother’s Day only a few weeks away, I’ve already been thinking about what I can send my mom in New York to brighten her day. While I love giving her gifts, I know that spending some quality time together is what she loves most – even though living in Texas makes that a little harder to do now. But that doesn’t stop me from having my own list of stuff we can do together whenever we see each other next. Here are some of my favorite mother-daughter activities along with links to some resources in case any of them give you some Mother’s Day ideas too!
For the outdoors mom – I love hiking and being outdoors and I’m always looking for new routes and trails to explore. What better way to bond with mom than some one-on-one time in the great outdoors? USA Today has some great ideas for fun trails across the country.
For the foodie mom – If your mom appreciates fine dining, there’s nothing like a delicious meal together. There are amazing restaurants to be found everywhere and Open Table lists the best restaurants in every state and helps you make a reservation too!
For the spa mom – With everything your mom does, sometimes she just needs to be pampered. Whether it’s a mani and pedi or a facial and massage, spas across the country have some great specials for Mother’s Day. Treat your mom at your favorite local spot, or go somewhere new together with SpaFinder.
For the mom that wants to stay-in – Nothing says love like a great home-cooked meal with the whole family. Food Network has a ton of ideas whether you want to have a cocktail brunch, a special dinner, or make your mom’s favorite dessert.
