With Mother’s Day only a few weeks away, I’ve already been thinking about what I can send my mom in New York to brighten her day. While I love giving her gifts, I know that spending some quality time together is what she loves most – even though living in Texas makes that a little harder to do now. But that doesn’t stop me from having my own list of stuff we can do together whenever we see each other next. Here are some of my favorite mother-daughter activities along with links to some resources in case any of them give you some Mother’s Day ideas too!
For the outdoors mom – I love hiking and being outdoors and I’m always looking for new routes and trails to explore. What better way to bond with mom than some one-on-one time in the great outdoors? USA Today has some great ideas for fun trails across the country.
For the foodie mom – If your mom appreciates fine dining, there’s nothing like a delicious meal together. There are amazing restaurants to be found everywhere and Open Table lists the best restaurants in every state and helps you make a reservation too!
For the spa mom – With everything your mom does, sometimes she just needs to be pampered. Whether it’s a mani and pedi or a facial and massage, spas across the country have some great specials for Mother’s Day. Treat your mom at your favorite local spot, or go somewhere new together with SpaFinder.
For the mom that wants to stay-in – Nothing says love like a great home-cooked meal with the whole family. Food Network has a ton of ideas whether you want to have a cocktail brunch, a special dinner, or make your mom’s favorite dessert.
Every season we’re more than happy to pick our favorite styles, but there a few that stand the test of time and are a must-have for every wardrobe. That’s where our Fabulous Five come in. They’re the pieces designed to go with everything in your closet and add instant polish to any outfit. And while these styles come in seasonal colors as well, they’re guaranteed in-stock in classic black year-round.
First up, our Parson ankle pant. A perfect transitional piece for moderate spring temperatures, this lightweight pant is universally flattering and available in a soft stone gray and a lined white pant for a brighter look. It’s no wonder that this style has quickly become one of Carolyn’s favorites!
Stay tuned next month for more on our Fabulous Five!
Last month, Ming Wang was a proud sponsor of the Alegent Health Foundation’s Heritage Awards Dinner recognizing four individuals from Southwest Iowa whose professional and/or personal contributions have bettered the community. Our team was on hand showing our appreciation for honorees at this fundraising event for Mercy Hospital nursing education, even dressing the wives of the night’s winners! We loved the opportunity to mix and mingle among this selfless group, but the biggest surprise? The number of women who walked in wearing Ming Wang! We couldn’t be more honored to be a part of this event – and in so many women’s closets! Click here to peek at all the action and tell us: what should we go to next? -Carolyn
Crisp lines and a weightless feel make this style a polished piece for spring and perfect for transitioning into warmer weather. Create a clean silhouette with a black shell and wide leg pants or opt for a classic ladylike look with a matching daffodil shell and a black pencil skirt. Feeling bold this season? Mix it up with a pair of bright pants and black pumps.
How else will you wear this jacket?
Spring is in the air! This month we were inspired by the colors blooming all around us, no coincidence why we named this color group Daffodil.
Will this color be making its way into your wardrobe?
