Play with color and shapes!

This jacket had me at ‘hello’! With a geometric pattern and bright colors, this style is flattering on all shapes and sizes.  Modern and slimming with a bold black line down side, I love how versatile this jacket is.  For a streamline shape, match it with your favorite pair of Ming Wang black pants, like I did last week. Dress it up with a black tank and white bottoms for an easy spring-appropriate look, or go casual and throw it over a white tank and jeans.  No matter the occasion, this piece has already become a star in my closet!

Such a breeze

Looking to mix-up your look? Then you will love this jacket! My favorite feature has to be the collar. Designed to frame the face, it allows for an easy transition from work to a special occasion with decorative black and white pearls on black trim to soften the style. I love the subtle stripes and faux pockets that keep this piece on trend without making me feel bulky. The tone-on-tone horizontal stripes add texture while keeping the contemporary style so you can mix-in print shells and easily switch up the look. To make the jacket the focal point,  I styled it with its matching tank and a basic black pant.  For an elongated silhouette, I paired it with a pant in the same waterfall color to visually streamline my look. When I wanted something more casual, I threw it over a printed blouse and white jeans.

Words from a winner: Jan Hunter

We had another successful store contest on Facebook – this time it was Morgan Fitzgerald’s turn.

Morgan Fitzgerald’s first opened its doors back in February of 1993. They have grown their assortment throughout the years to include everything you’d need to get dressed from top to bottom. Their assortment includes everything from wigs to shoes, and brands like Brighton, Vera Bradley, HairUWear and of course Ming Wang. What immediately caught my attention was how they measure the success of their customer service: by the number of times their customers voluntarily say “We love this store”. This means that they have made their customer feel comfortable, respected and valued. They have had several Ming Wang trunk shows with successful outcomes, so clearly, the next step was to hold a Facebook contest. The contest lasted two months; although there were many entries, only one winner could be announced and that lucky winner was… Jan Hunter!

Jan came into the store excited to pick out her winning outfit. She immediately gravitated towards the evening group, and picked out style M3482. While she was at the store, we decided to ask her a couple of questions on her style and Ming Wang.

1. What do you like best about Ming Wang?  (Fit, color, style, machine washable, travel friendly etc…)
“It’s a classic look and I feel classy when I wear it.”

2. What do you think makes Ming Wang stand apart from other fashion brands?
“It travels easy, it’s packable, and resists wrinkles.”

3. When wearing Ming Wang, how does it make you feel? Feel free to share with us any compliments that you have received lately.
”Elegant & Classy, it fits me perfectly.”

4. Describe your personal style and how Ming Wang fit into your current lifestyle?
“It’s comfortable but still stylish; I like how I can dress it up or down.”

5. What are some of your best tips on mixing Ming Wang in with pieces in your current wardrobe?
“I simply go back to Morgan Fitzgerald’s and have them tell me how to mix it in!”

6. What is your definition of a “real woman”?
“A lady wearing Ming Wang.”

7. What are some looks/trends that you would like to see in Ming Wang that are not currently offered?
“I wish there were more casual styles to choose from.”

Absolutely beautiful!

Refresh your look

Need something refreshing? This jacket will do just the trick! One of my favorite jackets in the new Ming Wang spring collection and will hopefully be yours too. This jacket looks flattering on most body types. The circular pattern was designed for a feminine and flattering silhouette. It’s the ultimate combination of soft style and updated chic; it can be dressed both up and down, with a tease of rhinestones that touch upon select black swirls. The tank’s color is what will control the wear of the jacket. For example, wear it with the matching tank for a daytime look; wear it back to black to instantly step up your style. I paired my jacket with my little black dress for a dressier look, or with a white shirt, jeans and belt for a casual day of shopping! If you’re a little top-heavy, I suggest paring it with the MS02 in black to help camouflage proportions and give an overall longer, thinner appearance.

Color of the month: Waterfall

I recently heard a quote and it made me laugh. “Why do women love to shop but never have anything to wear?”

There is a reason: when shopping, we trust what we see on carefully styled mannequins, and visually understand how it will work on us. The challenge, then, is how to make our purchase go the distance once it finds its place in our wardrobes.

In the past few years while working with Ming Wang, my wardrobe has shrunk dramatically. This is not because I don’t love fashion or shopping; it’s because I have discovered a brand that works for me and my lifestyle. I am a busy, young professional. I have zero time to think about what I’m going to wear each morning because every spare moment of my personal time is important to me. And yet, I absolutely want to look put-together every day. I need clothes that I can feel comfortable in, travel in, and coordinate back to the things I already own. Ming Wang has helped me build a quality wardrobe, giving me exactly what I need and preventing me from making purchases that I would only wear once.

That’s why every month I like to focus on one color group and highlight my favorite jackets every week. To give examples of different ways you can wear and style Ming Wang back to your own wardrobe – ensuring that you will never have to say, “I have nothing to wear!”

I decided to do things a little differently this time around. All styles will have 3 different looks: Girl on the go: to represent the working woman; Dress to Impress: to show a more fancy version; and Street Smart: relaxed, comfortable, and casual.

This month it’s all about a fresh start. It’s a new year and time for new beginnings. Why not start it in a fresh new color, like this splashing Waterfall blue (found in the new Spring collection)! Every week I will reveal a new jacket and several ways to style it so make sure you stop by.
